Some Recent Projects

Here are some pictures of the projects I've finished in the last couple weeks. From now onwards they'll be uploaded separately, but since I made these before I had a blog, I'm uploading in a batch for now.

First is a cell phone cozy I made. I just improvised a pattern as I went along, but it goes something like cast on 34 stitches, then alternate between knit and purl stitches to create kind of a fake cable stitch. Then I made a little rectangle for the bottom with just knit stitch, and sewed it all together with a darning needle. It holds together pretty nicely, and fits my phone well. It's also pretty soft, so it's fun to squish, too :p

Next is a bracelet I made with this pattern here. It's really easy to do, and is great for beginners.

This one's a little kitty I made up. I can't remember the pattern anymore for it because I didn't write it down as I went, but I'm going to remake it and try to make it look better, too. When I do, I'll make sure to write that one down.

And lastly is something I didn't knit, but painted/sculpted instead. This is what I did for my boyfriend's Valentine's Day present. It was pretty fun to make, but I think the eyes came out kind of scary :/ The doll is one of those Munny dolls that are preshaped and paintable, but the chocolate box is all hand-made by me from Sculpey.

Ideas Thrown Around

Here's a little list of the things I'm doing/want to do, knitting-wise, to update all you and so I don't forget!

I'm in the middle of creating a pattern for a stuffed animal rabbit with green and black checkers. So far I have the ears done, and the checkers are looking great! I'm using this stitch pattern here, with some improvising: http://knitting.about.com/od/stitchglossary/g/checkerboard.htm

Half-way through that, I got really tired of my cell phone not having anything to be put in and getting all scratched up, so I'm doing a little carrying case real quick to help. It has some kind of slanted ribbed stitch that I'm making up, just to experiment and learn how stitching works and such. There's no pattern for it, but I can give you all the gist of it when I post.

Lastly, I decided that when I finally get some DPNs, I'm going to try and make the hats that the characters in Di Gi Charat wear. They're adorable! And I'm sure the pattern would be well-received :)

Oh, one more thing. It's not knitting, but I still plan to do it. I got some blank jigsaw puzzles that I'm going to draw on. I'm really excited about those! I'll post them here, too, when I finish them.
